Terms of sale

The short version: we print to order, we take payment when you order, and a contract exists between us once we email to confirm your print is on its way. You have fourteen days from delivery to change your mind for any reason, and separate rights if a print arrives faulty or damaged.
The detail is below. Nothing on this page removes a right you have under UK consumer law — where the two disagree, the law wins.
Who we are
Mindful Walls is a trading name of Mindful Walls Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 00000000. Our registered address is 1 Example Street, London, SW1A 1AA, United Kingdom.
You can reach us at hello@mindfulwalls.example, and we aim to reply within two working days. That address is the right one for everything: orders, returns, complaints and questions about your data.
These terms
These terms apply to every order placed through this website. Please read them before you order — by placing an order you accept them.
We may change these terms, for example if the law changes or we change how we work. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. We will not change the terms of an order after you have placed it.
These terms are written for consumers buying for themselves. If you are buying for a business, the sections on cancellation and on our responsibility to you do not apply to you in the same way, because the consumer legislation behind them does not cover business purchases. Please contact us before ordering and we will confirm terms in writing.
What you are buying
Every print is made to order rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf, on the paper you choose: Archival Matte, or Fine Art Bamboo, a textured fine-art paper. Prints are sold unframed.
Two honest caveats about that. Fine-art paper has a visible surface texture and takes ink slightly differently from sheet to sheet, so no two prints are perfectly identical. And no screen is colour-managed the same way, so the colour you see here will be close to what arrives but will not be an exact match. Both are properties of the medium rather than faults, and neither affects your right to change your mind under the next section but one.
Sizes are standard A sizes (A4, A3 and A2) and describe the sheet, not the image area. Most prints have a printed border around the image; the signature print runs to the edge of the paper.
Placing an order
Placing an order is an offer to buy, not yet a contract. We will acknowledge it by email straight away. A contract between us comes into existence when we email to confirm that your order has been dispatched.
That gap matters in one situation: if we cannot fulfil an order — the print is unavailable, the payment does not clear, we cannot deliver to your address, or the price shown was wrong — we will tell you and refund anything you have paid in full. We will not have any further obligation to you, and nor will you to us.
We may also decline an order where we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, or where the quantity suggests it is for resale rather than for you.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where it applies. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Delivery is charged separately and is shown before you pay, never added afterwards.
Payment is taken when you place your order, through our payment provider. We do not see or store your card details — they go directly to the provider, who is regulated to handle them.
Prices can change, but a change never affects an order already placed. If a print is listed at the wrong price by mistake, we are not obliged to sell it at that price: we will contact you to ask whether you want to continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. If the error is obvious enough that you could reasonably have spotted it, we may simply cancel and refund.
Delivery
Prints are dispatched within three to five working days and sent tracked by Royal Mail: Standard (Royal Mail Tracked 48) or Express (Royal Mail Tracked 24), as chosen at checkout. Royal Mail's times count from dispatch, not from the order. We will email you the tracking details when your order leaves us.
The delivery estimate shown at checkout is an estimate, not a guarantee. If delivery is delayed by something outside our control we will let you know as soon as we can and do what we reasonably can to reduce the delay. Where a delay is significant you may cancel and we will refund you in full, including delivery.
An order is your responsibility from the moment it is delivered to the address you gave us, or to someone you nominated to receive it. Until then it is ours: if a print is lost or damaged in transit, that is our problem to solve and not yours.
If nobody is available and the print cannot be left safely, the carrier will leave instructions. Please arrange redelivery or collection promptly — if an order is returned to us as undelivered we will refund the price of the print but not the original delivery charge.
Changing your mind
You have fourteen days from the day you receive your order to tell us you have changed your mind, for any reason or none, and get your money back. You do not have to explain why.
Made-to-order goods can in some circumstances be excluded from that right. We do not rely on that exclusion. Our prints are produced from a fixed catalogue rather than personalised to you, and we would rather you were able to see one in your own room before deciding.
How to do it, what it costs and when you get your money is set out in full in the returns policy.
If something is wrong
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 what we send you has to be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is not, you have rights that sit alongside — and are not limited by — the fourteen-day right above:
- Within 30 days of delivery you can reject the print and ask for a full refund.
- After 30 days and up to six months you can ask for a replacement, and if we cannot replace it, for a refund.
- After six months you may still have a claim, but you may need to show that the fault was there when the print arrived.
Email hello@mindfulwalls.example with your order number and, if you can, a photograph. We will pay the cost of returning a faulty print, and we will not ask you to send it back before we put it right if a photograph is enough to see the problem.
Your account
You do not need an account to order. If you create one, keep your password to yourself and let us know promptly if you think someone else has it. Please keep your details accurate — we send order confirmations and delivery updates to the email address on the order.
You can close your account at any time by asking us. We may suspend or close an account that is being used fraudulently or in breach of these terms, and we will tell you why when we do.
The artwork
The designs, photographs, text and code on this site belong to Mindful Walls Ltd or to the people we license them from. Buying a print buys you the print.
So: hang it, move it, give it away, sell the physical print on if you like. Please do not reproduce, scan, photograph for resale, or use the artwork commercially — including printing your own copies — without asking us first. Where a print quotes or adapts a text that is out of copyright, our particular setting and treatment of it is still ours.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable — loss that neither of us could have contemplated when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and under the Consumer Protection Act 1987. Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to the price you paid for the order concerned.
We only supply prints for domestic and private use. If you use one commercially we have no liability to you for lost profit, lost business, business interruption or lost opportunity.
Events outside our control
Neither of us is responsible for failing to do what these terms require where the cause is something genuinely beyond reasonable control — a carrier strike, a supply failure, extreme weather, a power or network failure, or the act of a public authority.
If that happens we will contact you as soon as we can and agree either a new delivery date or a cancellation with a full refund. If it goes on for more than 30 days either of us can cancel and we will refund you in full.
Complaints
Please tell us first. Email hello@mindfulwalls.example with your order number and what has gone wrong, and we will acknowledge it within two working days and tell you what we intend to do about it.
If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk, who can refer a matter to Trading Standards. A complaint about how we have handled your personal information goes to the Information Commissioner's Office instead, and the privacy notice explains how.
Other important terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business. We will tell you in writing if we do, and it will not affect your rights.
- This contract is between you and us. Nobody else can enforce it.
- If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues to apply.
- If we do not insist that you do something these terms require, or we delay in doing so, that does not mean we have given up the right to insist on it later.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
